Milliken Carpet announces Facility in China
(LAGRANGE, GA USA and ZHANGJIAGANG JIANGSU PROVINCE, CHINA - Aug. 8)
Milliken Carpet has announced the development of its first manufacturing investment in China. The facility is a project of Milliken’s new wholly owned manufacturing company, Milliken Textile (Zhangjiagang) Company Limited. The project involves the installation of Milliken proprietary technologies for the production of commercial carpet on a site within Jiangsu Province Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone. Plant start-up is projected for end of year 2007.
The new facility is designed to serve the rapidly growing commercial carpet markets in both China and the rest of the Asia Pacific region. This manufacturing facility will provide Milliken’s high-quality standards at substantially shorter lead times and at more competitive pricing, allowing it to serve these critical growth markets in China and the rest of the Asia Pacific region more effectively. It is Milliken & Company’s intent to utilize the full capacity of this facility to serve the growing China and Asia Pacific markets.
